Bad News Bears

An aging, down-on-his-luck ex-minor leaguer coaches a team of misfits in an ultra-competitive California little league. Pre-show entertainment in partnership with Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance presents a musical performance by New York City Brass at 7:30pm. In the case of inclement weather, the pre-show & screening will be moved indoors to Culture Hub at 440 West 202nd Street.

The coach is waiting for his next beer. The pitcher is waiting for her first bra. The team is waiting for a miracle. Consider the possibilities when former minor leaguer Morris Buttermaker takes a job offer to coach the Bears, a bunch of misfit kids who have no baseball talent. Starring Walter Matthau and Tatum O’Neal in what may be considered the best American sports movie ever made, Roger Ebert called it “an unblinking, scathing look at competition in American society.”
