Inwood Art Works proudly announces the programming for its sixth annual Inwood Film Festival, featuring 27 films, including 17 world premieres, along with seminars, post-show conversations with filmmakers, and plenty of special events.
Opening Night Benefit
Thursday, May 25 – 6:30-10:00pm
Special feature presentation of award winning film, The Whale, with post screening conversation with Inwood-based screenwriter Samuel D. Hunter by Inwood Art Works’ Founder and Executive Producer, Aaron Simms.
From Darren Aronofsky comes The Whale, the story of a reclusive English teacher who attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter. Starring Brendan Fraser and based on the acclaimed play by Samuel D. Hunter.
Plus, experience delicious food from Amores Café, unlimited wine and refreshing beer from Dyckman Beer Company, and delectable desserts in celebration of our incredible filmmaking community!

RED CARPET COMMUNITY ROOM
Friday May 25 through Sunday, May 28, 2023
The Red-Carpet Community Room is a hip hub to connect filmmakers and audiences. It is for the exclusive use of all Inwood Film Festival ticketed patrons before and after each screening. Enjoy a glass of wine or a Dyckman Beer and come to connect with neighbors before the show, stay afterward to discuss the films, meet like-minded folk, and hob-nob with local movers n’ shakers.
COVID PROTOCOLS
In accordance with NY State Department of Health guidelines, proof of vaccine is not required for venue entry. Masks are not required but strongly encouraged for all attendees, especially while seated in the theater during screenings.
Inwood Art Works is following all lawfully required COVID-19 health and safety protocols including NY State Department of Health guidelines and will continue to update and revise our protocols to reflect the most current safety standards – so make sure to reference this page closer to your event.
