Opera

Near the mid point between an equinox and the following solstice lies a mysterious time in which pagans and Christians alike choose to celebrate the otherworldly. We go into the space in between; the narrow meeting point of our reality and the spirit realm; the overlap of what is now, what was and what could be; and we celebrate. We celebrate unabashedly: Halloween, Day of the Dead, All Souls, All Saints, Walpursgisnacht. It is a time for magic. A time to believe intensely and to let our longing spirits long freely and fully.

Mezzo-soprano Laura Virella and maestro Keith Chambers will take you on a musical journey through your own seance. Come dressed to howl at your own moon (full program available here). Program includes:

Claude DebussyChansons de Bilitis (La Flûte de Pan; La Chevelure; Le Tombeau des Naïades)
